Certain features and areas of the website are available only with registration, login and/or a paid membership. The reproduction, transmission, distribution, sale, publication, broadcast, circulation or dissemination of any CHIME Education Foundation Content by you, or by you through any other person or entity, is prohibited unless express written consent is separately obtained from the CHIME Education Foundation or the owner of such content if the CHIME Education Foundation is not the owner. CHIME Education Foundation collects general information about the usage of this website as well as any personal information that you provide. The personal information collected depends on how you choose to make use of our website. We will not distribute this information in a manner inconsistent with this policy unless required by law.

a. General Website Usage Information

To monitor site usage and improve the quality of the website, CHIME Education Foundation gathers general information about the use of the CHIME website. We use web server logs and industry-standard website statistics software to count the number of users who visit the website and to count the number of views of particular pages, as well as to track other general statistics about our website. We track individual users' visits to the website, however, CHIME Education Foundation does not share this information with third parties. At times CHIME Education Foundation may share with third parties the aggregate, anonymous information about overall usage of the website and other Internet services that CHIME Education Foundation collects, in order to provide general information about our mission, contributions that can be made to our organization, the scholarships that we provide and the like. CHIME Education Foundation does not share any information about specific contributors except to the extent required by law.

b. Information Collected to Process Transactions

When visitors to the website make contributions or for other purposes, CHIME Education Foundation will collect personal information necessary to process the transaction. This may include your name, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address, and credit card number or other payment information, and information as required by the IRS. The personal information you provide is encrypted and sent to us using a secure method, in order to assure that your personal information is securely and safely transmitted. However, please understand that no one can give an absolute assurance that information intended to be maintained as private, whether transmitted via the Internet or otherwise, cannot be accessed inappropriately or unlawfully by third parties. c. Payment Information

Payment and contribution information, such as your credit card details, is collected only to process a transaction and once used, is captured and stored for recordkeeping purposes in a computer that is not linked to the website. Credit card information is not stored in a manner that would allow you or another online user to reacquire such information. While being used to process the contribution or other transaction, reasonable measures are taken to ensure your payment information is not vulnerable to theft or interception.

d. Cookies

CHIME Education Foundation may use cookies to store preferences, record session information, record user-specific information such as what pages users access or visit, and customize web page content based on a visitor’s browser type or other information that the visitor sends.

e. Listserves

CHIME Education Foundation collect and use the email addresses of members to our listserves for the purposes of sending the email messages to solicit contributions, inform visitors of the scholarships provided, solicit potential recipients of scholarships or make CHIME and/or CHIME Foundation services available. CHIME Education Foundation will not share the compilation comprising the listserve to third parties.

9. Links to Other Web Sites

The website and print and electronic publications may contain many links to other websites. These other website may send their own cookies to users, collect data or solicit personal information. CHIME Education Foundation is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other websites. CHIME Education Foundation staff are educated on this policy and obligated to follow it. Access to personal information is limited to select personnel and the information is stored in an encrypted format. We also take steps to obligate third parties to handle information appropriately and confidentially.

CHIME Education Foundation does not solicit contributions from or offer or sell products or services for purchase by children. We strive to make our online ordering, registration, and services useful and safe. Since use of these services often requires personal or financial information, we undertake reasonable efforts to ensure that the information is transferred and stored securely.
